We’re Back!
After a long break, FIRST Robotics has officially kicked-off the 2022 season. Due to the recent pandemic, we had to end our 2020 season early, and unfortunately, were not able to restart in 2021.
So, after this long break, we are back and ready for this season. Our lead mentor, Michael Longtin (MJ), had to step down, but we are excited to say that one of our previous mentors stepped up to fill in the role. Please welcome back Kirby Nichols to RoboRiot!
Pre-season has been a tough time this year, since we are starting out with only 13 returning students and 9 new students. We took this as an opportunity to train our new and re-train our returning students. We decided to re-build the 2020 robot as a way to train our CAD and fabrication students. Programming worked with Code Academy and the business team continued business as usual.
On January 8th, FIRST Robotics held their annual kickoff, announcing the theme for this year’s competition. Unfortunately, it is not a water game… yet 😜. If you want to see the competition video, please follow this link. After the game reveal, our team split up into four groups to read the manual and come up with ideas of how we want to solve the game issues and gain points.
Thank You to this year’s sponsors and to the students and their families.
Sincerely,
FRC Team RoboRiot 3418
