FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team 3418 was officially founded in December, 2009. The team's original "Robo Riot" nickname and logo were designed by first year robotics students (31 total) collaborating from six local area high schools from Sheboygan County. In 2011, the team’s logo and tee-shirt color were redesigned to enhance the team’s iconic image in the community.
This program would not have been possible without the generous donations from our Founding Partners, Kohler Company, Vollrath Corporation, and Plymouth High School, who joined forces to provide Team 3418 with the financial support and the facilities needed to conduct robot operations.
Equally as important, was the professional mentor support (10 total) provided by Kohler Company, Oshkosh Truck Corporation, and Hagemeyer, along with our teaching mentor support (6 total) provided by Plymouth, Sheboygan Falls, Kohler and Random Lake High Schools. Last, but not least, was the outstanding parent support making sure their kids were engaged in the program and helping out with Saturday lunches during the build season.
The tremendous commitment from our mentors and sponsors during our 2010 rookie season helped lay the foundation for a program that teaches high school students that science, engineering, and business are all connected in an educational way, but can be fun and exciting, as well as rewarding at the same time.
Where we are now:
RoboRiot currently holds its meetings at the Sheboygan Falls High school. SFHS has been very welcoming to our team and is a crucial partner in the success of the team. in late 2015 our shop at SFHS, which we had previously shared with the maintenance crew was completely emptied and redone from floor to ceiling. This renovation marks a large step forward for our team and for STEM in Sheboygan County. We are very grateful to SFHS for all they do to make the success of our team possible.
